I'm a very simple guy and with the exception of what I did in the Navy, none of my jobs have ever had as much riding on them as the people that made the property decisions for what Mego made this first (Target) go-around. So please don't read this as a critique of their decisions of what to release and in what numbers. But if it's not obvious now as to what is gonna warm a peg (pretty easily predicted from here on out) and what will sell (also, easily predicted from here on out), please roll with what is patently obvious from the first three waves, eh. I think they could have sold as many again of what did sell and made none of what didn't and been four times ahead of where they are now with the bottom line. And again, that's not me being critical of those who made the decision, because who could have known for sure (risk big, win big?), but there was most of one and all of another quarter year across three waves of releases at retail, online, and a robust secondary market that says Superheroes, Trek, and Monsters sell and all else is vanity. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. ok, sleeping on this announcement here is my take.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but expanding new Mego into other markets outside Target is a mistake in my opinion.
First off, the " exclusive " Target saying can't apply anymore. One would thing expanding into other markets would only dilute the already falling prices.
I loved the fact that Target was the only vendor. It gave the hunt that more exciting.
The last thing I would want to see is new Mego hanging out on peg warmers selling for $4.99 a pop at Walmart, ughCornelius POTA sigpic MEGO of the Planet Of The Apes :ape:
:smiley13: Cornelius is home.
I'm in a groove and on the move collecting Mego POTA figures. PM me anytime.Comment

To me the exclusivity factor neither helped nor hurt sales. It just put more product into the hands of scalpers and less into the hands of collectors who actually wanted to buy them.
The Monsters and Trek were always going to have good sales numbers. Charmed and Cheers were always going to tank. Anything rotting away on the pegs now or in future will have little if anything to do with exclusivity, in my opinion. The licenses, pricing, quality, and accessibility will determine how well Mego does.Comment

I am all for more distribution, especially to other territories. I hope they can maintain the incredible price points and occasional sales. That's what is keeping me in this game. I would buy an insane amount of FTC if they were on Target's shelves.
For all the complaining and whining about Target, I think pretty much everyone got all the toys they wanted, many times at amazing prices.Comment

More exciting for whom? I thought you weren’t buying this stuff.

In my opinion, it’s great news. The more stores that sell Mego, that many more people see the figures and are potential customers. Also, Mego will now have control over the lines they manufacture.
- IanRampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?Comment

and its should be a lot easier to get them in the hands of customers too.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

Less fortunate children would get a chance to snag them too...toys should be able to reach everybody.
Megos are not exclusive to only high rollers such as yourself.sigpicComment

yeah its a shame that kids can't get to a Mego style Superman or Batman at a store for less than a tank of gas.

Neat. More availability is a win-win.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment
