    Hello all!

Hello, I'm new to the MEGO Museum Forum!!! My name is Robert Hammons and have been a lifetime MEGO lover! I was born in 1970 and owned and destroyed most of the WGSH line before I was six years of age....
Now that I'm all grown up I've been looking back trying to re-capture the essence of my childhood and found it here! I am attempting my first custom MEGO fig...THE SHADOW and hope to have it done soon!

This brings up the issue of Joe and MEGO store. I have read many posts that were none to positive and was wondering if he ALWAYS is late with his shipments? I placed a SMALL order with him (cape, mask, body etc.) and I'm anxious to get started on my first custom!!! How long will have to wait for him to ship my stuff? I know that MEGO meet was this past weekend so I'm sure that will hold things up.... but realistically how long?

Hey man, Welcome. Always room for more megoheads.

Here is what I have gleaned from the threads about mego store.
    1. Your stuff WILL arrive.
    2. He ships slowly sometimes.
    3. He does not always return emails.
    3. He does NOT rip people off.
    4. Many people here like him a lot, a few people here are PO'd at him.
    5. Patience is a virtue.
    6. I am tired of threads bashing the guys that sell stuff. (I have had an order in with another seller for like 8months, I have been in touch with him and it will come. Would I have liked it in 2 weeks, yes. I am ok with waiting, and am never going to bash the guys selling, unless they outright rip me off which has never happened. If they all quit, then it will be much harder to make customs, than if we have to wait longer sometimes.)

This is not meant as a lecture, everyone is different, it is just some of what I have learned here, and how I work around it.

A while back I got tired of waiting for suits to arrive, so I picked up a needle and thread and started making my own. The first few sucked, now I am getting much better. If you don't have the patience to wait for an order, try to learn to do it yourself.
As an amateur customizer, I would suggest that you work on a couple of different customs at once and buy different parts from different people. Then you always have something to work on, even if the parts you are most excited about haven't arrived yet. Honestly I have about 5 or 6 customs just waiting on parts. That's ok, I'll simply start somemore.
I am sure everyone here won't agree with me.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy your time here, there are a lot of great people, fun threads, and good humor, and useful information. Cheers, Nate.

Thanks for the reply MegoRonin (Nate)!... As this is my first custom I have no other choice but wait. I ordered from both Dr. MEGO and MEGO Store for my first project. I am quite good at sculpting (I have NEVER attempted casting however so this will be new!) and not too bad with a needle and thread. This first project is mostly just assembling parts. I look forward to learning as mush as I can form many more like minded people!

Welcome to the forum. Only thing I could say about the mego store is you be the judge on how well he treats you with your order. Then you let us know how you feel.

Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
            Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
