Put your DC Super Hero in your Christmas Stocking

Here's a beautiful seasonal Heroes World Flash Back. What was the one you circled in every Heroes World ad but never got? For me it was the Human Torch.

I remember seeing this ad in an older comic I got at a flea market. I was mesmerized at the thought of all of these characters being available, as I could only find Superman, Batman, Robin, Spider-Man, Captain America and Hulk. This and the back of the packaging vexed me.

I picked up a "Super Hero Catalog" in an LCS dollar bin this weekend. The Mego page reuses much of the artwork of this ad, minus the Christmas motif.

I stared at this ad for hours as a boy. Always loved this one.

Didn't get that many of those as a kid. I STILL need Wonder Woman.

My brother and I had everyone one of those figures.
Judging by some of the stuff my mom gave me,
I think we had doubles of some, so that there was no fighting over them.

I had most, except Mxy, WW, Supergirl, and Catwoman.

Of those, the one I coveted most was Catwoman. I saw her once at retail, on the card c. 1977, but the purchase was nixed.

What kills me the most is Dover, NJ is about a two hour drive from my house. All that Mego goodness so near, yet so far... (sniff). :(

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I have a bunch of old school Superman comics and a couple of them have this ad, love seeing stuff like this,
but funny how they show Robin and not Batman.

Tarzan's not pictured either but by then DC might have dropped him and Marvel picked him up.
