Wow, that is nice! My friend and fellow podcaster Andrew Leyland often talks of how incredibly popular Starsky & Hutch were in the UK, so it's not surprising that Palitoy included them in their Mego offerings.

You can kind of tell how popular that show was, weekly comic magazine, several hardcover annuals and a bunch of toys.

Planet of the Apes was a total smash there too, even though it was half a season, the comics and other merchandise ran for years.

Ah, Zorro--such a lovely doll. Also, interesting that the heroes were in sold in full cases per character, with the villains' case divided. That's a lot more of each than in the US. The Palitoy cards are terrific.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

i was crazy about planet of the apes and everyone loved starsky and hutch it was always a talking point at school the day after it had been on.there were always rumours going round that tonight they get killed and we were all gutted but it never happened and we all breathed a sigh of relief.

That is so freaking cool. To this day I still LOVE the Palitoy packaging for Starsky & Hutch. Why Mego didn't go that same way in the states is just beyond me.

That's a great find, thanks for sharing. I really like the Battle Brigade ad, and nice walking poses for Starsky and Hutch.
