Did Mego ever make a WGSH city?

Ya know the more that I think back as a kid the more I remember having a carrying case that would fold out into a city. Did Mego ever make such a thing?

No, there were plans for a Super City made out of cardboard in Woman's Day, but it was much larger than a carrying case.

I just remember being able to carry all my Megos in it. My parents had bought me all the WGSHs one Christmas and they all fit into this case that folded out into a city. At least that is what I remember. May parents never threw any of my toys away but through time I ended up with just a Superman, Green arrow, Batman, Robin, Mxy, Joker, and Penguin. I think some of them walked away with friends or they didn't make it past my destructive stage in life. I am not sure were they all went to. Just remember finding my black Falcon when I was in middle school along with my supergirl and that was the last time I remember seeing them ever again. I always kept better track of my Superman and Batman stuff. I ended up giving all my Batman stuff to my Nephew which I told him that if he ever decided that he did not want them anymore to give them back to me.

I'm guessing you're recalling the Hulk Hide-Away Playset, manufactured by Tara Toys for 1978/79.

Have a look at this blog and let me know if it jogs any memories (scroll down a bit, to see the playset):

Nope that is not it. I will have to go visit my parents and go through all the old toys that they have manage to find to see if I can find it. I am pretty sure that I won't but hey it is worth a shot.

CTC made one. He's kind of the king of cardboard. It's a very big piece to make!
Hermitboy the only other thing that hasn't been mentioned that may be what you're talking about is the 1978 Tara Toys Adventure City. Give this a look.

Are you sure it folded out to a playset? Mego did make a carrying case for the WGSH

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

                    >I just remember being able to carry all my Megos in it.

I'm assuming you're referring to the 8" figures? I'm not sure about a folding city.... Can you describe it a bit more? Were there multiple buildings? Did they have interiors, multiple floors? Any other accessories with it?

                    >has anyone here made that - or anything like it

I am just going off of memory here. I was 5 or 6 at the time. What Tim posted looks familiar. My memory may be combining the WGSH case and the city that Tim posted into one. Thing. I may have to ask my mom for old pictures to see if I can find it in any. If I do I will post the pic.

Didn't Ideal also make some vinyl fold-out playsets that could be used as a carrying case? I realize they would be older and not on the proper scale, but one might have made its way to you.

Yep, they made a Batman and Spidey I know. WHen it folded out it was more like a house with a door on each side instead of a city.
