    My First Mego Figures!

I never owned a Mego toy as a kid and only learned about them from the trading cards. In fact, I came to the site because I collect nonsport trading cards (mostly, Star Trek autograph trading cards). Since I do collect toys, I became interested in collecting Mego figures. However, I decided to take things slowly and start with the repros. Currently, I have all the EMCE Star Trek figures and acquired several of the CTVT repro series.

It took about three weeks but I finally received my first Mego figures that I purchased at auction. The figures are in good shape except for one of the Spocks has a broken leg that was taped together. Kirk came with a Super GI Joe outfit and others have some problems with their uniform. I only paid $21 shipped for all figures plus some cool outfits from GI Joe, AJ, and Atomic Man. I really didn't know all that I was getting from the looks of the auction pictures. I took some pictures of the lot. I hope I got a good ideal. I need to research some of the accessories and outfit. It seems like there are several GI Joe stuff. I really like the Army uniform and accessories. They have nice details.

The doctor bag has a couple of nice accessories. Unfortunately, the tool to test your reflexs is broken.

I had to clean the mud off some of the accessories in this picture.

Just having some fun with the figures. I know Vulcans don't have red blood. Well, I don't think they do.

    Enjoy!
    Michael

Great get and it seems you've already put your figures to good use!

You should look into the Action Jackson line. A relatively inexpensive line to get into and lots of fun.

Indeed, they are just as addicting as the cards. I'm trying to stay focus on just acquiring the Star Trek figures for now. I could use extra figures to create crew members. By the way, I haven't given up hope one winning that one Mahjong game but it will be a miracle when it happens.

Glad I got a deal! I am collecting the Family Guy Star Wars parody cards but I probably have the one you got. Is it the P1 promo card? If so, I have it. Thank you though!

Thanks Nate for info! It helps me minimize researching info on the pieces. It's unfortunate that the batteries were left in the power vests and they linked. I need to clean it up but I'm not hopeful that they'll work again but the accessories are cool anyway.

Yes, it was fun staging those figures. Cool, thanks for the tip on the Action Jackson line. It's definitely best for me to keep with the inexpensive lines for now. My Star Trek autograph trading cards collection can get very expensive.

I'd like too welcome you to the world of Mego collecting opposed to just Mego card collecting. Its nice to see the figures appeal transcends those of us who grew up with them.

Yup, I know...I mentioned that I didn't think he had red blood. The Macy's card that I cut up was only in red.
