Up Close: Hasbro Micronauts SDCC Set

One of the most exciting things about San Diego Comic Con this year was the triumphant return of the Micronauts courtesy of their new owners at Hasbro. They have big plans for Mego’s smash action figure line including a feature film adaptation. However for SDCC, they wonderfully recreated three of their most popular figures Pharoid, Galactic Warrior and Orbital (formerly Galactic) Defender for this limited edition boxed set. Which is available on Hasbro’s website for North America and sadly, Ebay for the rest of the world.

Awesome pics! Thanks, Brian. Can't wait to get mine. I only had a few Micronauts when I was a kid, but the ones I had were favorite toys. Especially Pharoid. I like that they went back to the original hieroglyphs on the sarcophagus.

Cool, now I'm really looking forward to getting mine in the mail! Anyone know why the Galactic Defender became the Orbital Defender?

Probably because of an existing copyright.

A little disappointed to know that Galactic Warrior isn't die cast, but only a little. Can not wait to get this in the mail, and as I've stated in other threads, I hope Hasbro's "big plans" include releasing some of the other classics from the line.

Love the pics. Can't wait for my box to arrive from the Hasbro Toy Store. They'll look great next to the Biotron and Microtron that I picked up a couple of weeks back.

Wow, that thing is beautiful. For me, this is a "nailed it".
