Up Close: Super Friends Wonder Twins Set by Figures Toy Company

I will admit that SuperFriends is my favourite toy line that Figures Toy company currently makes. We try hard to be objective but it’s important to be transparent and admit that this series makes me happy. Even when it’s the Wonder Twins, two characters I tolerated but didn’t adore on Saturday morning but 30 years later, couldn’t resist in retro action figure form.

So how do Zan, Jayna and Gleek stack up? As with all of our “Mego Museum Up Close” features, we let the pictures do the talking and you be the judge.

Like what you see? You can order them at our Sponsor Entertainment Earth right now.

I give the sculpts 8 of 10 ... would be 9 if Zan's mouth was sculpted better

Uniforms - 10 of 10 --- Could not be improved.

Gleek - 11 of 10 --- much better than I could have hoped or expected

    Total package - 9 of 10

I agree Brian. This is the best mego line FTC has done. This is my personal dream come true for mego format.
Wonder Twins is a must have for any SF fan imo and these are home runs all around!!!

I love these. I admit I have seen people concerned about the belt length. Is there some reason not to trim them to suit one's tastes? Is it a concern about future value - trimmed vs. untrimmed belt? It seems like such a minor thing to me. The monkey's got clothes and his own belt for goodness sake!

These are very cool, question?? why am I thinking Jayna's body looks better than the released Batgirl?

These are beautiful. These are what I expect from FTC.

Regarding Jayna vs. Batgirl '66, the Mego female body benefits from the softening of a knit "pajama" suit--the Batgirl material is not so flattering.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I like them, and hope to get them in the future. The only comment I'll make is on Jayna's hair. I know it's hard to do an up-do w/ a action figure, but even if it had real hair but shellacked down. It's just that my Mattel Wonder Woman has doll hair, and I just think it would look weird in comparison. But other than that, I look forward to adding these to my Superfriends collection!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

The Superfriends series is really turning into one of those wonderful pieces of nostalgia that really makes me smile. The fact that they are doing such justice to them really makes it a big plus. Great pics Brian!
