    Head neck repair

OK. Bought a lot on ebay and in it got a RC Batman head. Neck plug has been ripped off, but I have it. Anyone have any ideas on re attaching the plug? I got it to hold with super glue but it would never hold while putting it in the body. I thought about filling the head with epoxy to strengthen it, or maybe even resin. Just can't let a head like this go to the junk draw without trying to restore it. Looking for any ideas.

In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones. A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.

Yeah I knew about this but want to make it look as close to the original as possible if I can. If it was a generic head I would but this one is kinda rare so I'm willing to go a little deeper to restore it if I can. Thanks for the input though. It may end up being what I do anyway and should work with this method for display, the way it was damaged. It was a fairly clean rip. Does anyone know if filling a mego head with resin can cause any damage? If not I'll do a test on a common head and see what happens. That's the only real solution, I've come up with that would be strong enough to keep the plug on and be able to insert into a new body with out breaking the repair.

You attached the plug back to the neck? If that's the case how about just opening the chest cavity at the seams where you have space enough so you can put the plug in without it tearing. Then glueing back the chest cavity. I know that you can get some space open on some of the doc mego bodies. Just a thought.

It's still not strong enough. As soon as you move it, it will break. I'm probably gonna end up selling it and I want it to hold up to packing, shipping etc. Plus I wanna see if I can restore a decent head to somewhat usable, displayable condition after it suffered some major damage. Worst case I'll use it on my repro Bruce Wayne figure and replace the Doc head I have on that. I think I'm gonna fill it with resin and see how that works. I have to test on a junk head first, but that should easily make it strong enough to mount and remove if need be.

Did you try Apoxie sculpting medium yet? It's worth a try. I mean, just resculpting that part of the neck plug that was ripped off? I'm such a believer of this Ape-oxie. Can you post a photo of what's going on? The little hamster in my brain is busy running on its treadmill trying to come up with a solution. I love puzzles.
