What age is appropriate for re-Megos?

I saw the original Mego cards had ages 3 and above but was looking at some of my CTVT purchases that had ages 8 and above. For those of you with young kids/grandkids, what age is okay to give a re-Mego to for them to play with? Thanks!
It was like that when I got here.

I think every child will have different tendencies, but with my grandson, who just turned four, I would say he's just now getting to a good age where he is appreciating the play value of their outfits. At age three he had a tendency to strip them so they operated more like his other painted plastic figures. Now that he is beginning to invent his own play time in a more imaginative way, the outfits are staying on and he's finding adventures for them to do that don't involve extreme yoga stretches or hide and seek with all their accessories. So my experience is to watch how they handle those clothes. If they don't want them dressed (at all) , then they may not be ready for them. You spend allot of time keeping everything together. My two cents.

Thanks for the input! I bought a bunch of the general line CTVT series years ago and my daughter is now 3. Wondered how soon I might be able to play with those with her and what others had experienced!
