How rare is a sewn sleeve

I wanted to start a discussion on how rare is a sewn sleeve Spiderman . The reason why I wanted to start this topic is because I see a lot of them for sale . So are they really rare ? Does anyone know a how many where produced in a run at the time ?

I think when people discuss the "rare" SS Spider-Man, it's not the figure so much as the figure in a particular packaging. The SS Spider-Man is actually kind of rare… so long as it's sealed ON A U.S. 2nd ISSUE CARD. They're actually not so scarce on the late-issue Pin Pin Toys cards, many of which flooded the U.S. market in the early 1980s. And I would guess that it is from these French cards, so many loose specimens were taken.

Given all the truly "rare" Mego WGSH items we know of, I don't know how accurate it would be to call any SS Spider-Man "rare", but it's definitely harder to find on a ©1979 U.S. Card.

Ebay has had a few of them recently...but not a lot of them. The few that they have had have issues. I know a couple of them had holes in the feet. Like Benjamin said, the US carded ones are hard to find. A loose Sewn On Sleeves Spider-Man should run between $75 and $150. Depending on condition of course. They are relatively harder to find and probably a step below Circle Logo Spidey as far as rarity goes. What I always like about them was the ones that I've had in the past all had perfect spider-man logos on the back of the outfits where the snaps meet together. Not all of them form a perfect logo...but I'd say at least 80% of them do.

Their eyes can't hope to see
