    2015 Kubby Award Results!

Its Awards show time again as we announce the winners of 2015 as chosen by you. Like every Kubby Awards, we’re thankful to the many companies that produce these figures for having so much choice in the matter. This year was a stellar one packed with Superheroes, Monsters, Villains, Robots, Apes and rebels, so much to choose from!

The Kubby Awards are named after former Mego VP Neal Kublan and are an annual event celebrating achievements in Modern or “ReMego” figures over the past year.

Now on with who we thought were the best action figures of 2015!

    BEST HERO FIGURE OF 2015:
    #1 Snake Plissken (NECA)
#2 Alfred-1966 Batman (Figures Toy Company)
#3 Apache Chief- Superfriends (Figures Toy Company)

Leading the charge with 22% of the vote is Kurt Russel’s out law hero from Escape from New York. I’m very honoured to say that in fourth place was our own “Captain Canuck“, thanks folks!

Big hand for palitoy - the Kubby Awards are a lot of work. I was surprised that Retro Wolverine beat the brown/orange version. Nice to see that Sea Ghost got some love too.

Thank you, I'm weirdly physically drained.

Me too, despite my dislike for the character, I still say it's the nicest figure DST/EMCE have produced.

Great fun !! around 90% were my top picks too. I was surprised that the EE batman 66 exclusive, even made it in the ratings( wish they would sell Alfred on his own)

What were the results for the items where voters had to write in suggestions? I 'd love to see that. I hope to pick up more Marvel EMCE sets figures this year. I only have the Spider-man set thus far.

That was a great read. Well done Brian!

It was exciting to see Snake get so much love. I hope that translated into sales for the Neca team as well. I have to say I really love that figure. Glad to see King Tut get praised and it was extremely cool to see the Canuckster get an honorable mention. I was personally hoping for a higher result because the story behind that alone made him enduring, PLUS Lil D plays with him still to this day. That has to count for something. Congrats Brian. Plenty of love aimed your way from this household.

The Riddler, I think, was an easy pick for best exclusive. I think we've been wanting that variation ever since the Batman '66 line started. Speaking of which, it's nice to see back to back wins for the '66 line. That is a quality product anyway you slice it. Really looking forward to the offerings in 2016. I have to say I too was surprised by the RC Wolverine nailing best Marvel superhero, although I'm glad it did because that means there are allot of folks who still love that old removable cowl look, which I will always love. I found him to be very neat out of the box, so congrats to Paul and the gang for bringing that one home. I think that comes very close to what Mego would have done.

I completely understood the Jaws nod for the 3 3/4 inch, but I am such a huge Flash Gordon fan I selfishly rooted for that line to take the top spot. Glad it made a fight for the finish line. I'm hoping that means good sales for Jason and his team at BBP because I really want to see more of those. Another great line.

Very fun read this morning. It also reminds we how far the Mego format has come in just a few years. Lots of companies really making quality product right now and that alone is an amazing thought if you consider how many decades this format laid dormant. My sincere thanks and eternal gratefulness to everyone who played a role in that small miracle. Now on to 2016!!!
