    Cataloging my collection?

for the new year ive decided to catalog my entire vintage toy collection. main reason being that my health isnt the greatest. i want my family to be able to have a reference for what is in the collection and the value of individual pieces.

i was thinking along the lines of putting all the info on discs with photos and a text file for each figure. also numbering each figure and putting a small decal on each figures display case that refers to the correct files/photos.

this is going to be a major task but i feel it is necessary.

has anyone here already done this with their own collection? any pointers or methods to share?

I did this years ago, for the insurance company.
I have a full list, with prices. It's impossible to keep this updated (some go up, some go down), but what I do is add a recent toy value catalog (or two), which gives even people who know little about it a good guideline. A disc is indeed also very helpful.
Sorry to hear this task is health-related...
