Want it but it's a bit too pricey.

      Riddle me this boy wonder....

this is a very nice looking Gorshin Riddler compared to the first Riddler released, although a bit on the pricey side
but definitely still worth getting asap, just wish it came with a removable mask.

I've always preferred this suit to the question mark leotards. I think this is common knowledge or at least common myth, but wasn't the Riddler a pretty minor villian until the TV series?

He had only appeared in the comics three times before the series and there was a 17 year gap between the 2nd and 3rd outing.

I think the rumour is that Bill Dozier picked up a comic with his third appearance that helped inspire the series and made the Riddler famous.

^Yes. And the bowler/suit was uniquely Gorshin's. A semblance of it didn't appear in the comics until the late '80's, when the Riddler was pretty much written off. But it, and the character--much like Mr. Freeze--got a boost from B:TAS and it began being depicted much more frequently.

Yeah, wasn't it that Gorshin wasn't in love with the leotard? I seem to recall that fact and that he adored the suit.

I don't recall his opinion of the tights. The suit is beautifully detailed on the show and for a long time I thought it was a movie splurge, but it's right there in "High Diddle Riddle."

If you look closely, you can see the jacket is actually double-breasted, with turned cuffs, peak lapels, and an unvented back. I'd bet money Gorshin's costumes cost more than either Cesar's or Buzz'.
