It was. I was shocked they paid that for it. If it was Green Arrow or Shazam in that shape I would understand but over $1000 for a mad monster kresge seemed stiff.

I'd pay over 1,000 for a Kresge Mad Monster but I offered that guy five bills for that Wolfman in that shape. Good for him but they overpaid.

Playing catch up on my DVR and watched that tonight. I was wondering if that fella that came into the store was someone from this forum or if he was just a staged customer for the show. I thought he overstated the rarity of that piece by saying there were only like two or three "in existence". I don't think so.

They are pretty hard to come by on the Kresge card. I've been looking for years.

The Mummy is the only one that shows up with any regularity.

Yeah, they are tough to find on those cards, but the condition of that one was really rough. That won't be an easy sell for them at sixteen.

Just a question, I grew up in Canada and never saw Megos for sale at Kresges and my family shopped there a lot. First memories of Megos were in Duluth Minnesota at the Target store. They were 5 dollars each so me and my little brother could only get 1 each. He picked a boxed Lizard and I got a boxed Hulk. I remember going back and forth at least 5 times as there was a Human Torch and it was hard to decide at 10 years old back in 1977. I only remember Megos for sale at Zellers or Eatons but it was 1980 that they showed up. Were the Kresge Megos sold in Canada ?

Oh, I definitely subscribe to it being a rare piece. It's just the idea he would place an actual lowball number " in existence" to that perspective. If I was in possession of something that was "known" to be so rare that only a few pieces actually survived, I wouldn't walk into a comic shop to pawn it. It's difficult for me to suspend my disbelief on those things even though I DO understand its all in the spirit of showcasing the figure for the fans. Reality TV has a well deserved reputation for embellishing the absurd as "normal".

                    OOOOUUUCHHH!!!

Shipping: $41.49 International Priority Shipping to Canada via the Global Shipping Program Import charges: $307.74 - That's a hefty premium to pay on top of an inflated price. Doubt any Canadians will be jumping on that ... thank you eBay Global Shipping Program.
