Beautiful! I didn't realize glue was used initially to secure the mask elastic.

A little backstory on this one. It's from Mark Huckabone and he got it from the Kenner corporate archive. They had samples of all kinds of stuff over the years included a set of 4 perfect Solid Boxes.

"This is a perfect example of the first issue Robin with unfaded color. “Yellow sleeved” Robins were not manufactured, they are faded from the original green."

This statement has been debated many times throughout the years, but I remember someone pointing out once that the robin pictured on the Batcave box had yellow sleeves, so therefore some were produced in that color.

I don't know if it's conclusive. I understand the evidence looks good. However, my friend Gary Klotz, long time Mego/Batman collector/dealer in Pittsburgh confirmed to me that his Robin he had as a kid had the yellow sleeves when he removed from the box when he was in the second grade, noting he remembered vividly because they had gotten it wrong. Gary is about 52 and a very detail oriented auto-body teacher/classic car restorer. He is reliable.. So I really don't know. I know this looks good for the fade argument but I had to add it because he informed me of this years ago when he and his friend Toyman Don, also from Pittsburgh/Greensburg area were swearing that the early Superman boots were skinny booted figs before it was ever noted here.
