    Batman with "cloth" emblem

I picked up a very minty Batman with a cloth emblem. It's a T2 body and the emblem almost seems like you couldn't just pull it off it is on so well. The dealer seemed very reputable (he had a lot of vintage items from other lines that were in great shape). I paid $70 for it. Deal or no deal? Also, any info on this would be great.

    Thanks,

    Brian

First off, $70 is good deal for a minty, complete Batman.

Second off, I love the cloth emblem. The cloth emblem appeared later in production runs, maybe as late as '79. I defer to others on the first appearance of the cloth emblem. I know others prefer the T1, but I really like the T2 and the cloth emblem completes its evolution into a better toy, IMHO. I wonder if the line had continued if Mego would have ultimately dropped the oven mitts for a cuffed sleeve and colored hand like Green Arrow.

Good deal... A carded one would run you in the $200 to $250 area

Agreed. The cloth emblem is more my taste.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I do dig the cloth emblem over the sticker.

Like the cloth emblem better, no worries of them coming loose or faded, wish Mego did something like that
with there Star Trek line, late on that run they used heat sealed federation emblems, but as far as I know
those are rare, at least I don't have any.
