Has the Facebook pages replaced the Forums?

Sorry if it seems like I am not posting here as much as in the past, but I feel like all the Facebook pages
devoted to MEGO are filling my need for MEGO discussion.

Everytime I poke around the different forums, I don't see much that isn't being discussed on Facebook,
and I am on the Facebook a lot lately.

So maybe this is part apology and part question - am I missing much by being away?

I used to do quite a bit of Facebooking, but I've gotten away from it in recent months. I would much rather come HERE to discuss stuff with people who are of a like mind, by and large. Plus, this place is just so downright homey!

If you ask on the Museum, the answer is the Museum.

I actually just restarted my facebook after years of not having one. I noticed a couple other forums I'm on about other hobbies had slowed down alot lately because most of the members there are on the facebook page and have started using it mostly.
I for one like the forum style much better and would much rather use the forums for most stuff. That being said, I have joined several of the toy groups on facebook and are enjoying them very much so far and also awaiting a couple purchases to arrive from a couple of them.

It's pretty much a split although I don't see you posting much on MegoMania either. Mileage varies, sorry it's not for you anymore.

I like facebook and use it often but the non stop barrage of outrage, social justice, drama and stupid political memes make me happy to be here talking toys or nonsense some days.

Also, it's 100 percent free of pictures of people's frigging dinner plates.

I need to visit the Facebook page more often. I tend to think of the Museum as THIS forum, so I guess that's part of the reason.

Facebook is something I check in on occasionally to touch base with good friends. But as a hobby, I look for my news and discussion points here. If you're not posting here, you miss a good chunk of folks.

as by some of the responses already, there are people who don't do Social media... I do Both I will not neglect 1 for the other, is there a reason people do 1 over the other maybe, for 1 the Immediate interaction, Notifications, Messenger etc... I guess Facebook is more real time... but like I said I am not giving up one for the other.

I stopped following Micronaut/ Microman info. when the Yahoo group went mostly Facebook. I probably should have signed up but I just dont have any desire to make it part of my life.

I have a few shell accounts to float through and read, but would never make a personal one. Way too intrusive. The more I learned about how it operates, from a business side, the more I avoid.

I also like how this more of a conversation, where FB is random responses.

I dunno about that, Hector posts pics of his dinner sometimes.

I don't do the Facbook thing either, it always struck me as a teenage gossip sort of thing.
