    Inside The Mego Factory

Every Mego collector has probably wondered at one point what the Mego factory looked like*and*how everything*was made. Thanks to this rare document (the 1978 Mego International Shareholders Report to be exact, which we’ll soon share) we have a glimpse into the Hong Kong wonderland that was Lion Rock.

    This is Mego’s fully operational 250,000 square…

Amazing! That showroom is so swank... The display columns, color scheme, even the plants. Late '70s design par excellence.

It's kind of haunting to think that so many childhood memories came out of that one place, which was also partly responsible for bringing an entire era to an end...

      Wow!

Too bad we don't have high-resolution photos of the show room. Love seeing this, however. Look forward to seeing more.

Some parts look higher tech than I imagined and some lower. Very cool and thanks for posting.
        Fresh, not from concentrate.

Wow, who would have ever thought such photos existed? Nowadays, there are tons of TV shows that profile how things are made, but very few things like that existed during Mego's time.

          Thanks for sharing!

            What a neat flash back.

In my sleep at nights, I used to dream about seeing stuff like that when I was a kid! I remember dreaming about how the Type 2 bodies must have been processed. Very cool!! Thanks very much for posting.

Wow!!! It's the factory where they make dreams! The Showroom is of course the piece de reisistance. Thank you SO much for posting this. It's stuff like this that give Mego Museum its "clubhouse" feel.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
