One of my contacts (don't ask who) provided me with an audio recording of this meeting years ago, from when Kenner sent a guy over posing as a traveling encyclopedia salesman, who bugged the office. Unfortunately, the audio is too muffled due to all the synthetic fabrics rubbing together, so all I could make out was "MORE SCOTCH PLEASE!!!".

Sounds like Mego Watergate?? Unnamed contacts and audio recordings.
1977? guessing it's about Star Wars whether too or not to do? just looks like it could be.

Indeed, that couch has game!…*would look good in the Giger Bar, Millennium Falcon or any number of speakeasies or brothels.

Can anyone read what it says on the portfolio leaning against the wall?

You guys all know that's not what happened, right? Marty Abrams explained at the original MegoCon in 2004 why they didn't get the Star Wars license.

Of course we do, it's all in jest. I was on the panel with Marty and Neal at MegoCon, I was the guy not talking.

As I recall, there were two of you not talking... Very diplomatically, I might add.

For some reason, I still see the 'passing on the Star Wars license' referred to online more frequently than I'd expect to (since the actual reason why is public knowledge). I also honestly don't know how many people on this board were at the 2004 MegoCon since there seemed to be a- let's call it a difference of opinion- between those who ran the 2004 show and those who have done the MegoCons ever since. I believe there was even a second Mego site (which I don't think is around anymore) started as a result? Not trying to drudge up old disagreements if it's something that's been resolved- just passing along the impressions of an infrequent board visitor (which of course is why I wasn't sure if you were serious or not in the first place).

Is there any recording of the panel discussion from megocon? I was there but would love to see it again. I'd also love to see The Q and A Neil did at the dinner.

Nobody recorded that dinner and I wish they had. He was buoyant.
