First Look at DST/EMCE Deadpool Set

Diamond Select Toys gave many of us a surprise when revealing the fifth in their series of ReMego Marvels produced in conjunction with EMCE toys. The “Merc with a mouth” wasn’t created when Mego roamed the earth but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been a steady favorite with the customizing community over the years. Thanks…

Deadpool makes total sense from a overall sales point of view. Hugely popular, film on the way and might definitely introduce some non-Megoites to the format in a big way. At the very least they will sell units to us and the Deadpool fanatics. I would not be surprised if this is the best seller in the line.

I really like the modern interpretations in these sets. Modern Cap, Brown suit Wolverine and both the red and white outfits in this Deadpool set.

I think the Mego translation is spot on. Good design work on this one. Nice work guys.

I like them. My oldest boy is excited, for once, as well.

I see in the article The Good Doctor will be talking about this set at some point, I hope he will also address some of the concerns/issues with the previous sets.

Love it - they nailed what Mego would've done and made the Modern versions look terrific. Definitely will get a set!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Just to give some credit to the members here who worked on Deadpool:

Andy Covalt sculpted the 3 heads and the trigger hands. The weapons were
supplied by Diamond Select Toys from their 7 inch Marvel Select Deadpool.

Ed Nagy made the silkscreen "mego" suit which captures the early MEGO look,
complete with the no boots footie look. I altered a MEGO Riddler belt to make
                    the arm accessory.

Brian Leitner made the white/black and red/black costumes but I made the belts and
harnesses and all those damn little pouches glued all over the place.
Andy Covalt also sculpted the belt buckles and the boots.

These are completely not my cup of tea, but they are growing on me. I think wolverine is best to date. Also that burnt head looks a lot like a Mego conan head,no?

Great set! What is really cool is that in the modern Deadpool comics, they will throw in a retro issue every now and then with Deadpool from the 70s or 80s (which of course is totally made up). So the retro version of him fits in perfectly with the comic "timeline".

I have bought every set so far and IMO each one has surpassed the previous one... Deadpool looks like the best of any set produced to date... and as much as people would like to see these fast tracked I'm ok with the spacing of the sets, It gives me time to recoup sayings for the next set.

These look really cool. Any hope of getting a swivel bicep body with this one? It would be nice for holding the weapons.
