I really like this set, but I would love to see all of them on the 8 inch scale including Lois, Jimmy and Perry....

Man that movie is so great. Just caught it on TV yesterday. I vividly remember as a kid, me and my younger brother, right after seeing the film rushing over to the local K-Mart and picking up fresh new 8" Mego Superman figures.Comment

Superman: The Movie is still my all-time favorite superhero movie. I've watched it so many times it's ridiculous. One of the first movies my parents bought for me on video tape (beta!) back when it first was released, in those big oversized cardboard Warner Bros. movie boxes! Wish I still had that...
The 12" Superman figure was one of my favorite toys as a kid, I played with that a whole heck of alot. Ironically I don't own one now, not sure why. As an adult collector I haven't focused much on the 12" line, but I loved them when I was young. I agree that it would've been great to see those movie line done in the 8" format, I always wanted a Fortress Of Solitude playset for my Supes figure!
Great article to read, thumbs upComment

It's an industry term
Toyetic is a term for an element (either a fictional character, a locale, or an object) from a new or preexisting toyline that can be easily marketed in other media such as motion pictures, television shows, video games, or comics, among other media and vice-versa.
Though it is popularly believed that the term was coined on the cartoon series Freakazoid!, the word was actually coined back in 1977 when Kenner Toys advertising and development executive Bernard Loomis discussed the marketability of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a film in preproduction by the future executive producer of Freakazoid!, Steven Spielberg. Loomis told him that Spielberg's Close Encounters sounded great, but it wasn't "toyetic."Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions
