    1980 Super Hero Shopping Spree

Are there any surviving examples of the free posters given away with the sweepstakes displays? Just curious, they'd be cool to own, but I'd say almost all were destroyed or thrown away. Anybody know of any existing today?

I don't know if it ever happened although I know the owner of the printing plate for one of the posters.

Does that mean one could be printed from the plate? I mean, obviously its possible, but is it something that could happen easily. I assume the technology has changed.

That would be pretty cool if it could be done

Hey I have a printing press...what size is the plate?? Is it flexible metal??
now days we go direct to plate..which means the plates are poly..but old presses can still run the old metal plates...as long as you have some of the old chemicals!

After Brian's post, I could easily predict the direction this thread would take.

I must say, however, if I owned the plate, I don't think I'd want to risk any damage to by using it. I was just curious. I didn't expect a print to be nade from it.

I know who owns it and was present when Lenny Lee said he'd print the poster as a centerfold in his magazine, I don't know why it didn't come to fruition...

Those posters, as well as the Retail POS Display that they came on, are among my most sought after Grail pieces. My vision is for a corner of my Toy Room to have that display, filled with WGSH figures, flanked on both sides by framed and matted examples of those posters. If they were printed again I would certainly seek them out.
