I love this book,I bought it at the time ,and will buy the new edition of worlds greatest toys,Perhaps this will inspire Figures and author Ben
to do vol 2 & 3 .I also would like to see books on the retro megos starting with where mego left off,with wee-win bible figures to the 90s with
war heros and then FTC 2004-2006 figures ,Diamond /Emce,Bif bang pow/Emce and with the new FTC figures 2012-present,Diamond/emce-marvel.
also would like to see mattel retro-action covered. thats a lot of work -but it would be cool.This idea to re-issue this book with new imfo
on FTC figures is a great idea.

Great marketing move?

To me "FTC" is synonymous with "marketing moves".

If "marketing moves" are successful, then they're also synonymous with "turning a profit"---and then, hey, guess it's all good 'cause the goal is for re-Megoing to go on for a good long time. If FTC is for the long haul with all this WGSH love, then great.

Is this book a "gift for the fans"---I dunno----but if they set up their print-run numbers for the book appropriately as well as making their 10-page advertising pitch that's included in the book not overwhelmingly sleazy in how it reads, then ultimately it'll make them a profit---- and the "gift" will be them surviving longer than the Famous Covers line did, or the Mattel retro WGSH styled stuff did. THAT would be a gift.

I'm not so keen on what FTC does and how they operate.

But if they are making customers happy, then bravo to them.

I'm especially happy for Ben because I feel he's a great guy and this union can only be good for him! Congrats, Ben.

DM provided resin accessories in the ''90s and added China-produced accessories, bodies, and clothing around 2003.

CTVT introduced their non-licensed repro Mego repro lines in 2005, including Mad Monsters, and added other licensed lines later.

DM's expansion company Emce introduced Mego repro Star Trek figures in 2007, and POTA in 2008, with "Mego" endorsement.

Not discussing quality, we can at least suppose that there was some synergy building over a few years in a niche market.

100%. Doc's mail order catalog alongside Flatt's showcase made Mego relevant after twenty years of obscurity.

Great news, especially for my wife who has been tirelessly tracking eBay auctions trying to snag a copy for me, and frustrated that I insist she not overpay for it.

Now... Will it be released in time for my birthday? That appears a possibility.... we shall see.
