Best protective cases that aren't acrylic?

I have a Kresge carded figure that I'd like to protect with a protective case. It's not the ones that are in auction watch...I should be that lucky. Can anyone suggest a protective case that can hold the Kresge carded figures that isn't acrylic. The Kresge I have has been opened so I just want to make sure that all the contents stay in the packaging. Thanks for any help.
