I was just chatting w/ Roy (Da Bronx Mego Collector) and since I'm in Brooklyn, I thought that it would be a great idea for all of us here in NYC to get together for a pizza party! Who's in?

There are actually 4 members on the board who live in the OKC metro area, and some who live nearby in Tulsa and whatnot. I tried to get us all together once, but it just didn't work out.

However, Saildog and I have gotten together a couple times, and once Txteach came up from and we had a killer time.

The Con is in the Javits Center .......... I can't go though , I am disabled right now and can't walk so I have a hard time getting around . My wife is going to the Con for me to get a couple of comics signed . I will always open my doors to any fellow Mego head to hang out though ....... Roy

I'll be up with a budy of mine for comic con all weekend (and also to tool around town) Can you guys suggest any good toy / anime model spots in town? We are staing at the best western near the Javits.

Would love to hit some stores in the city

The Toy Stores that I know in Manhattan are fun, but nothing great.

At the 2nd AVe and 7th St on the Lower East Side, there are 2 stores- Toy Tokyo and Love Saves the Day. Tokyo has lots of new toys and some old (priced high) and Love Save The day is an all-out second hand store. Lots of fun to look around, but don't count on a deal. If you're touring about, they make OK stops, but I wouldn't go that far out of your way.

There's a decent comic store at 40th St and 7th Ave in Times Square called Midtown Comics. Usual comic store with lots of books, some toys and some overpriced vintage. Again, a fun stop if you need a hero fix. There's also a comic store across from the Empire State Bldg. I think its called Jim Hanley's Universe.

I was hoping to go to the Con, but I have to work all weekend.
