    Up Close: NECA Solider Ape

NECA’s foray into the Planet of the Apes license has quickly become a fan favourite on the Mego Museum forums. Their latest release is the Soldier Ape, the favourite of Mego army builders for years.

How does he stack up, judge for yourself with this up close look.

If you like what you see, he is available for order right now from our sponsors at Entertainment Earth.

Wow he looks super sharp! I love the detail and this is a must figure for me. Beautiful figure, and I love that he is available in ToysRuS (at least in the U.S.).

The only knock I have on that figure are those ankle joints. Just don't like them. It just makes the boots look weird. Taylor has the same problem.

                  Looking forward to this guy.
The detail on the leather came out really well.

I really like the way he came out. When I first got mine, the 2 things that bothered me were, 1st no bandolier and 2nd attached boot. I wanted removable boots. But now that I've had him for a few days, the joints at the angle make the figure super pose-able. You can get him to stand in so many ways, which I think wouldn't be possible if the boots were removable. The articulation in the whole figure is great. I have mine hunched over very low with knees bent and he doesn't fall over.
Also, the leather vest and cuffs are separate from the purple fabric, so replacing the purple will be easy for some.
