    Neal Adams is in Toronto

He offered a signing op tonight at Silver Snail comic shop. I met him...and I am still in awe....simply, in awe. He's amazing...an amazing, amazing person. He's in the city for ComicCon this weekend at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Such a great sense of humour...energy...a classic gentleman. So gracious. If you get the chance, catch him if you can this weekend.

Simply, I can not fully process the experience tonight. He signed some of my favourite comic covers for me. I don't quite know how to explain all of this. His work has always been --and will always be-- eye-candy for me....hits positive buttons in my psyche from early, early formative years. A true inspiration.

Darn it, I just *have* to get this Joker custom Mego done that I have been working on...circa Batman #251...I finally figured out how to get an 8" anorexic-base for the figure. I'm still working out the Mego-head reshape. I keep picking my custom-figure up, working on it, puttng it down, re-studying Neal's arwork, picking it back up. I want it to be a true nod to Neal's talents.

When I can get past this silly delirium tonight, I will get back to my sculpting.

Great post ! I met him at a con last year and he was very friendly and gracious . He signed a few prints for me and my daughter which are now framed on my wall . It boggled my mind to think this guy had drawn stuff I read when I was 10 and here I was talking to him .

REALLY wanted to go tonight, but we had a launch up the street at the new TCAF store in the Toronto Reference Library for Monstrosity vol 2.

Hopefully I can get a break from my table to go see him at some point on the weekend at the Toronto Comic Con.

I had a great expedience quite a few Fanexpos ago. The man is a GREAT story teller and willing to go on for hours if you are willing. Granted, he's a bit full of himself but that just makes the tales better

A bit full of himself is an understatement. He and Steranko should get into a competition and see who is more full of himself It might be a tie. It used to be great to get an autograph from those two without having to pay for them...now that is no longer the case. I just don't understand the likes of 2 very successful artists like Steranko and Adams having the balls to charge for an autograph. The only thing I actually agree with them on charging for an autograph is if the person getting the autograph isn't getting it personalized and is going to CGC it. I'd be ticked too if someone was making $$$$$ through CGC Signature Series. That being, Adams was an amazing artist and has influenced a lot of artists. He was the first artist that I can remember putting that much detail in all of his art. His run on X-Men is one of my favorite runs in all of the comics I've read.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
          The beauty that surrounds them
          Isn't it a pity".
