Did you narrate your action figure adventures?

When you were a kid and setting up your guys and playset, did you set up the scene w/ a narrative ala Ted Knight from SuperFriends or Desmond Doomsday from the 60s Batman series? It was too funny, b/c when I gave Zach the Batcave and he was showing it to his mom and playing w/ it, he started w/ the classic cliffhanger speech, "Will Batman and Robin ever get out of this sticky situation? Tune in tomorrow, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel". I've taught him well.

Did you guys do this as kids?
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

No....I was a wierd kid. I made them box each other. Even did rankings and world titles. I had two divisions, the 8" guys and the 12" guys, which I called Little Men and Big Men.

To this day, whenever I talk to my brothers about Megos, I refer to them as Little Men.

I don't know that I narrated, but I definitely created stories that reflected the Batman show. They'd chase the criminals, fall into a trap, escape and then save the day.

I don't really remember, but my son is a constant narrator. I can here him in the other room now. The only time he's not narrating his toy's adventures is when he's asleep. The kid never stops talking when he's playing. Sometimes, various theme music is thrown in for good measure.

Yeah, especially with Star Trek. I think at one point I was plotting out the adventures before I played.

I remember me and my friend both had a matchbox or hotwheel car like one used in Hawaii 5-O and anytime either one of us would "drive" it we'd do the theme from the t.v. show.

How funny, I did the same thing, only with professional wrestling. I still have notebooks full of card results, rankings, etc. And I called mine "The guys."

Me too. We had a tile floor in the den and the square tiles made the ring. I remember the spring of 77 When Robin pinned the Hulk for the belt.

I never did narrate my adventures, short of a Captains Log or two....In fact, I was usually pretty quite when I played, with the words playing out in my head...in the correct character voices were applicable. Once in a while (especially when playing Batman) I might hum a little soundtrack to go with the action, but otherwise made little noise.

I never narrated my adventures but I did have the figures talk to each other.

I narrated, did the voices, sound effects, theme music, you name it. Later on, I drew comic book covers of my adventures after I was through playing them.

My son does the narration, voices, FX and music too. He does a mean Kevin Conroy/Batman for a 6-year old!

Most times there was a quest to claim a marble or

                              from my shoes.
