    The World of the Micronauts!

Another beautiful addition to the Mego Museum Department Store Catalog Archive . The 1979 Mongomery Wards Catalog had an impressive selection of Mego Micronauts including the Rocket Tubes playset.

I don't remember ever seeing the number 9 vehicle before. Anyone know what its called?
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
      Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

I think #7 is the Hornetroid.

Looking back at this line it really was amazingly cool. Just imagine if it had been released in a Star Wars-less world. They may have been as big as WGSH's.

              Interesting stuff!

The Hornetroid picture shown is the intermediary prototype, which I have a picture of from the HMS Company's files (and which Brian included in his "Prototype Week" updateds). Notice it has a missile launcher at the wing-mounting, among other differences.

Vehicle 6 isn't simply a Galactic Crusier, but the special blue edition that was exclusive to Montgomery Wards. I didn't realize that they were still offering it as late as 1979. In addition to being blue, it was packaged in a brown box, and included both a Time Traveler figure and a wind-up motor - both of which weren't included in the regular edition of the toy.
