I mulled that same possibility over in another thread. It would be crazy to not pursue it. Doesn't Disney offer something like with Marvel already, in the parks?
Having just went to Disney World in October, the closest things I can think of are the custom Droids and custom Lightsabers you can make. They also have custom Mr. Potato Head parts you can only get there.
I think I'll get one of my daughter who is a big Harry Potter fan.
You could really do some "army" building by sending in pictures of 2nd and 3rd string actors from the movies!
^^^ WOW, That is SO SMART! I didn't even think of that! I always thought it would be fun to try customizing some GOLDEN GIRLS "Megos" since I've been a GG Fan since the Pilot aired when I was 10 (I know.....I've always been a WEIRDO KID), But if I ever felt like I was ready to plunk down the heavy load of CASH $ it would take, I could have the 4 Ladies of GG thru the Your Face on a Figure site if I really wanted to LOL!
I saw PALITOY say he's using a pic of BEA ARTHUR for his FTC MM Tease post for next Fri. I honestly believe GOLDEN GIRLS has a BIG & ECCENTRIC enough Fan base that GG "Megos" could possibly sell like HOTCAKES,........or shall I say CHEESECAKES! Disclaimer: I don't 4 a second think that'll be the announcement considering Palitoy wouldn't consider a pic of Bea Arthur a "Tease" of a FTC Golden Girls line, as that would be too obvious. But, that hint by Palitoy does have me wondering what would be a FTC announcement that could be teased using Bea's pic? Maybe a 007 announcement for GOLD FINGER? Maybe some Boxing "Golden Gloves" line? Golden Compass can't have a big enough following?
Maybe a Bea Arthur pic is alluding to Golden Girls as a hint for the FTC WGH GREEN LANTERN vs foes wave w/:
Green Lantern, Evil Star, Star Sapphire & GOLD FACE? < (*I WISH, But NOT it!)
Maybe the tease will be for a FTC "SUPER POWERS" FF of GOLDEN PHARAOH? - Doubt it LOL!
I hope it isn't Austin Powers Mego Gold Member figs!
I'm already anticipating next Fridays FTC MM announcement based on Palitoy's tease of next weeks teaser pic! I have problems w/ PATIENCE Darn it! LOL!
I do LOVE getting announcements every FRIDAY here at the MM about FTC's upcoming lines, even though I long for more "SUPER" announcements like WGH, BATMAN 66, Super Friends, & hopefully Filmation DC NEWS, Wonder Woman TV, & WGH or FILMATION ISIS.............But I know every weeks Fri. announcement (all 52) can't possibly all be FTC Products I'll want to buy! & Thankfully so, how would I afford that?
*Thanks MEGO MUSEUM & FTC for these weekly Teases & announcements! Hope next Fri. will bring WGH, Batman 66 wave 4, or some kind of DC News w/ pics of upcoming figs.!
Very cool. I wonder if they will be on the kid body or from the looks of the sculpt, they are going with the slightly older Teen versions?
Now the big question is, will they be developing new kid/teen scaled bodies (like the 9" Robin) for the 12" figures or using the 12" body. At the very least, they will need to make a female body for Hermione.
I was wondering about this as well.
The wording is interesting: "released in both 8 inch and 12 inch action figure form". To me, that makes it sound like Harry will actually be on an 8 inch body... although I find that doubtful, since that would be problematic if and when they do figures for the professors.
Great to hear about these officially! I think the face on a figure is a great idea for this line. I know everyone here has mixed feelings about these, but with any luck, this will be a successful line and will allow FTC to go deep on some DC characters.
This is a great idea. This December up in NYC, they had a scanner in the TRU at Times Square where (for a fee) kids could get their face on a 6" Avengers figure. Things like Cap in costume but without the mask. If a company could do that in a busy store, FTC could definitely do that at the HP theme park.
This blows my mind. Think back to how simple toys were when we were growing up. The toy industry has come a long way and now you can put your image on almost any figure you want.
