I hear you Steve, I’ve been hoping for a Mego release Trelane too. But I’m happy enough though with my custom.
the Canadian wildfires are insane, the skies over Boston on Thursday were a smokey yellowish and we could also smell it.

The smoke in the Philadelphia/ South Jersey area was bad too. Had to move the Phillies game up an hour.

Ah, what could have been: that Baron Karza prototype!!

Had I seen that on a peg in a Target, as a fan of Mego figures and the Micronauts since childhood, my shocked enthusiasm would've registered a 12 on a scale of 1-10.

Reflecting right now, with the benefit of hindsight that it didn't come to be (alas!), I suppose the only silver lining is that I don't think that the designs of most of the other 'main' Micronauts characters really lend themselves naturally to a Mego 8" figure.

Thank you as always for producing this very enjoyable newsletter!

This week, I really enjoyed hearing the definitive story about the Mego Gorgon/Medusa figure. As someone who bought and liked all of the Mego Hammer figures, and who enjoyed Hammer's "Gorgon" movie, I was bummed when that figure was never released and wondered why a generic 'Medusa' was produced instead, with a different head. It seemed 99% certain that the core issue was rights/licensing, and I was aware that the rights to some of the Hammer films were 'murky.' So this wasn't a surprise. But it was awesome to hear a definitive, first-person account from someone who lived through it!

Thanks, as always for the newsletter. Just got my Neca Batman Returns figures in today. I am beyond thrilled there will finally be a Christopher Reeve 8” figure. Been waiting for that for almost 50 years.

Yeah, that was another situation where folks were quick to blame Mego, the one company that went super deep with the Hammer license. That bugged me, knowing how, as you well put it, "Murky" all that Hammer stuff was.

Oh wow, that stuff is out? It's been months since a "Mint Off Card" I'd love to do one.
