We crossed the streams, we barely survived the experience.

Oh Criminy, that is the worst freaking episode, sorry, I meant to invoke thoughts of two "pee streams" not the horrors of that BS.

Okey dokey, I just thought it was a Ghostbusters reference.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

That episode of Star Trek evokes strong trauma in me, and I'm pretty gross.

An online inflation calculator indicates that the $33.76 for the Millennium Falcon in 1980 is equivalent to $134 today. I'm genuinely shocked that my parents bought that for me for Christmas: that's a lot more expensive at the time than I thought....

My parents made me save up for the Falcon one dollar at time. Had to cut open my Spidey head bank when I finally had enough.

That's an awesome childhood memory. And that Millennium Falcon was worth every penny, making it even better!

Even my wife, who has no interest in any of this kind of thing and who is several years younger than I am, had one as a kid. (She liked RotJ Yoda as a kid, apparently.) One time, not long after we were married, we were visiting my in-laws and my mother-in-law, who knew I liked all this stuff, opened a hall closet and told me I could take anything I wanted from in there -filled with my wife's childhood toys (about which she had no interest whatsoever). And there was a well-used Millennium Falcon, which I did take (and still have), over my wife's good natured objections...

Another great newsletter: thanks again for putting it together!

I also really enjoyed the You Tube video about the Top 10 Space: 1999 toys. I had the Eagle playset as a kid. I loved the ship but thought the three figures were terrible. I remember pulling them apart at the waist to change them into a sitting position and that being really hard for me as a child. (I rapidly broke 2 of the 3.)

Love this weeks newsletter. I’ve been looking for a Star Trekulator, but I haven’t been able to get one, not much luck on ebay, maybe some day.
