About the same drive for me. I agree that vintage Mego has been disappearing from the meet. The custom stuff is cool, and I love seeing all the customizer's crafts, but I know a lot of the vintage collectors declined in attendance. I remember buying from Mark and Dan and Charlie at the Meet. It will be good to get new faces there too! I will be sad however, if the Ligotti Bros. can't make it. They are two of my faves in the hobbyComment

Sounds like it's gonna be great. Glad Skokie won out over New York. Sad to see it leave Wheeling, but happy to see it grow.Comment

In my neck of the woods! I need to add this to my calendar, and hope that weekend isn't already spoken for...Comment

...I just did the math, and realized this is probably going to conflict with Star Wars Day as well as the WWII trolley museum event, both typically held on D-Day anniversary weekend. If I recall correctly, there's also a Klingon event that I can never attend because of those other two events. Too many hobbies...Last edited by SentientApe; Jan 3, '15, 12:25 PM.Comment

...this adds a considerable amount of additional hours to an already long commute, double the distance and the time...and flying is not an option. I know there are a few folks who have traveled as long, if not longer, and I commend them but, I am not sure if Berto or I will be able to attend.
I will try my very best to make it happen, but as of right now, it does not look good.
Over the Holiday I got a chance to talk to Berto in detail about our options to attend MegoMeet '15 and it basically boils down to this...
Our only option is to drive...and I can't pad any more days to the trip, so that means I will have to do the drive in one day going (Thursday?) and one day coming back (Sunday). One-way without stops or traffic is around 13-14 hrs from Berto's Home.
I know I'm gonna be a wreck that Thursday and most of Friday...but IF I can get those days off from work (which is a BIG IF still), we will make it.Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!Comment

It's rough but it can be done... We did it a few years back but we had 4 drivers... We left at midnight and hit the Windy City around 2 the next afternoon and that was with a couple of half hour stops and a flat on the Pennsylvania tpk waiting for roadside service. That looks to be our best option as well, but this time we will have 2 drivers maybe 3 depending how far along the Mrs. Is with her driving lessons lolComment
