    Body Types

I have a couple of Mego figures that I am looking to sell and want to be as accurate as I can in the descriptions. What I don't know is how to tell the difference between body type 1 and type 2.
Specifically for the Wolf-man & Frankenstein.

Thank you in advance for any help/information.

    Cheers

It's really easy to tell the difference - type 1 have metal joints, type 2 are all plastic, and more muscular looking. You don't even need to undress them, as long as you can see the wrists - the metal joints are very basic and obvious, the plastic joints look far more modern and well integrated.

Most of the Monsters came on the Type 1 body. They did come on Type 2s but those were sold in Europe.

I hate to be "that guy," but there are three body types-
Type 0- it has the same skinny body as Type 1, but it does have plastic joints.
Type 1- as noted above, it is skinnier and has metal rivets in the wrists. It also has pointy elbows and knees when bent.
Type 2- more muscular body, plastic rivets in the joints

Here's a pic some posted here showing the difference

I didn't bring up the Type 0 body because they wanted to know more about the Monsters.

So what's the story of the Type 0s? I have seen them before, but rarely - I thought they were some sort of knock offs. Did they come between T1 and T2, a sort of missing link? Are they rarer because not so many were made, or did they just not survive so well? Were they limited to certain lines, or only produced in certain countries? I'd be really interested to find out more about them.

                  Good point!

Others would know better, but I think the Type 0 bodies were the first incarnation. Perhaps they were issues with the wrist pins, so they went to metal (or maybe it was cheaper in production). I think they are usually found on Action Jackson.

I've only seen the type 0 on AJ figures.

Saw a Type 0 Aquaman on Ebay once. Don't know if it was legit.

Thanks for the info, always things to learn about this hobby. I assumed the Type 0s came after T1s as they're more aesthetically pleasing, and seemed a step closer to the all-plastic of T2s, but I imagine they didn't stand up to too much rough play, so were toughened up with the metal rivets. Overall I prefer T1 bodies to T2, they're just so resilient, and I love the naive charm of them. It's just the wrists that are so ugly!

According to Ben's book,Type 0 bodies came out in 1971. Type 1s came out in 1972.

I read some time ago a guy mentioning Type 3 bodies, what about those?
