    Advertising with my Mego t-shirt

I was out at my boy's soccer game today wearing my cool Mego t-shirt. If you don't know the shirt I am taking about, Hulk made it and it is a lovely enlargement of the original Mego insignia disc on a white background.

So, one of the dads from the other team, a guy about 40 or so, says to me, "I wanna thank you for wearing that shirt."

    Another Museum member, perhaps?

He goes on: "My wife and I saw your shirt and got to talking..."

...And I told her about these beloved action figures from my childhood?
...And we agreed that if that guy can wear a Mego shirt in public, then I can wear my Cipsa hoodie around town?
...And we decided to give you the carded Green Arrow we have in our trunk?

Nope. He says, "...And we are going to Hooters after the soccer game."

    "Um, say what?"

"You know, the orange print with the black. Looks sorta like the Hooters logo."

Wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, so I told him I was happy to have helped and turned back to watch the game.

Whenever I wear my Mego shirt, I always sorta wonder if somebody will respond to it... even if it is just to ask what the heck "Mego" is. But I have to admit, that was not a reaction I was expecting!

I have the same white mego shirt and I sometimes wear it to college. I had one of the teenage students ask me what does Me go mean and is it a metaphor for something. Made me laugh because even after I explained it, the kid still looked puzzled.

If that's too obscure for people. I think I'll leave my Wiggins teape logo Ascot at the dry cleaners.

I played soccer in my shirt last night. Thanks Paul for making such a cool item.

Not sure how he got the Hooters logo out of that. I've worn my various Mego shirts over the years, and never really got asked about them. Kind of odd, really.

Somebody once told me it reminded him of Dolce & Gabbana.
I didn't see the resemblance at all.
                I would have prefered Hooters...
