A Mego Tragedy: Disaster in Dinah Mite Land

I went into my toyroom the other day and walked into a blood-curdling scene of chaos and destruction!!!

Well... maybe not nearly that, but I was still annoyed and befuddled.

Somehow, several of the items I have sitting on top of an 8-foot high bookcase fell off. The weird thing is only half came down. The Action Jackson side remained unaffected. All the Dinah Mite stuff, however, came down. You can see the stuff, still in postion, in this picture.

The Chalet box got dented and squished. It now has a bunch of creases, but no damage to the stuff inside. The real damage was to the Beach House box and the 4-outfit package. The individual outfit boxes in the 4-outfit unit each got pretty beat up around the edges, but the wrap did not tear open on the entire thing.

Again, the contents are pretty unscathed, but the Beach House box looks like it no longer has any sort of structural integrity. Like it was rolled up over and over until the cardboard became a flimsy version of its former self. I'm wondering if that's what caused the fall. The box became weaker and and weaker until the contents pushed forward, knocking off the lighter Chalet playset. It fell forward and flipped off.

Ever get a surprise like this? This is definitely NOT the first time I've walked in on some sort of fall in the toyroom.

You have my sympathy, truly. I recall finding my Hall of Justice utterly crushed (translocation chamber, too) by shifting boxes in storage.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Let me say that room looks awesome. As for the box falling I was always told as a kid that loose Mego figures come to life at night. Sounds corny I know. My dad use to pose them on top of fireplace etc when I was asleep. I would often wake to find a villian about to throw a hero of the mantle etc. I sure miss those times. Since you have many loose Megos in that room, keep an eye on them. They may have knocked the box over in an over night battle. Once again that room is awesome. Please post some more pictures.

Wow very nice toy room! I'd have a heart attack if that stuff came down on the wrong side and got your Wayne Foundation.

I have noticed that the boxes especially the larger ones loose structural integrity after awhile and well being they are 40+ years old you may wind up with a messy surprise. Glad nothing was majorly damaged

Sorry to hear that your Dinah boxes got damaged, i hate that sinking feeling you get when you see that things have fallen.

My loose figures sometimes move by themselves. Ok it is probably just some subtle vibrations that move them over time, but I still wonder.....

I've discovered that happens with the larger boxes like the treehouses and Batcave.
