Most important, this hobby really needs a master mailing list. When toy manufacturers or media publishers ask us how many Mego fans there are all we can really do is guess. This means that some exciting Mego projects may not take off because there is no way to determine how strong the market really is.

Wouldn't deleting people who have been banned from this site and removing members who show no activity ever help to gauge a figure?

Banned people are not deleted for technical reasons, I believe.

Our next step is to contact all registered members if possible and try to get them subscribed. We have no problem with people registering and then not being active, I don't think it skews the results at all. You were interested enough in Megos to register, so you qualify as a fan. Participating in forums is simply not everyone's cup of tea. But we would like to stay in touch with them and entice them to come back and see what we are up to. It frustrates me that so much cool stuff goes down here and more people don't see it.

I've done some regional toy shows, it's amazing who knows who you are without ever having actually communicated with you. The majority of folks I talk to aren't forum members for numerous reasons but they lurk....
