Ah, Cheron.
I painted his chest half white as a kid, why didn't Mego do that?
He went through so many phases in my childhood.
For a while he wore a Fighting Furies cowboy outfit and was called "Little Solo" in my Cantina (which housed anything from Steve Austin to Marx Knights).
He even wore Uhura's dress for a while. What was that all about?

^You really have to wonder why Mego went with Mxy. Lex was very generic looking back in the day, I'll give the that. But Bizarro seems like a no brainer, and a cheap way out for Mego, reusing Superman's costume with just a reversed sticker and a new head.
I still wonder if Ideal's Superman playset didn't play a part in his selection, as a cardboard Mxy was included in that set. Murphy Anderson's slightly off-model Mxy is a dead-ringer for Mego's original smirking sculpt as well.

Chris
Wow Chris! Your knowledge of DC, never fails to amaze me. I did an image search and couldn't find a close up of the "Murphy Anderson slightly off-model Mxy". What I did find, strongly suggests your point.
