    The Amazing Spider-Men

Courtesy of super collector Mark Huckabone, we don’t talk enough about Mego’s entry into 1/6th scale and here is proof. Four distinct variations in carded Spider-Man 12″ figures right under our noses. This would be the first version, featuring the Canadian skinny body. Version 2 features the muscular body that is more known in the…

A decade ago, I used to see a one or two of the carded 12 inch Spider-men on ebay per week (or that's how it seemed). I'm not sure that I ever noticed any variations, either.

Rampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?

I collect Mego 12", I love them and try to catalog all the little variants. When I was shown this photo, I felt like a dope.

Amazing how many variants there are of this figure. I've always loved this particular figure and always will. The John Romita Sr. love is apparent!

that first spidey with the skinny body looks like he took a swing through a bikini waxing salon.

Whoa, I didn't know there were four versions, and I like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable about the 12 inchers. I didn't even know that the non-muscle body version came on this card!

Even with all the great info on this site, we're still learning more about Mego. Now THAT is amazing.

I had this figure as a kid...although I don't know which one beyond muscled body. None of my 12" Megos came with the Fly-Away contraptions, or, perhaps my parents just threw them away with the packaging!

I know this is probably in the galleries. My fave 12" Spidey is the web shooter. Did that one come on one of these cards as well?

I think that would be an equally effective crime fighting tool.

I got one of these as a kid and it was one of my most played with. I remember it came with a black thread web and i was mesmerized. It also had fly away action which I immediately tied to doorknob. Its one of my greatest mego childhood memories. Luckily my Mom was there to snap a picture of it.

Now that pic is a classic.

I never knew that their was any variations on this figure. It's really cool to learn something new about a hobby that you love so much.

It's a dirty little secret that Medusa of the Inhumans can do just that.

That first one there looks like the "Spidey when he temporarily filled in as a conga player for Mungo Jerry in 1975" variant.

I'm pretty sure he just came in his own unique (and awesome) box. He's my favourite 12" Spidey too, I can't believe I don't have one yet...
