Mego and EMCE figures mentioned/pictured in GEEK Magazine

    Hello, Everyone.

I subscribe to Geek and in the April 2008 issue with the Jon Favreau/Iron Man cover is a snippet and photo on EMCE's Trek reissues (p. 12), an interview with director Eli Cross with mention and photos of his figure collection including Mego Trek figures (p. 32) and a humorous column by Valerie D'Orazio mentioning her love of Mego figures p. 66).

So great to see Megos in print!
    I LOVE CHEESECAKE!!!sigpic

I will be sure to purchase a copy just for that reason. Thanks for the info.

Not necessarily... I mean GEEK magazine?

I don't see how you think it's good to see our hobby being reduced to that title. Collectors have enough of a stigma attached to them without a magazine like that adding to it.

You can keep all the "geek" stuff...

This is just… wait. WHAT? Are you serious?! You cannot be serious.

Can you please be…? Wait. Really?!

UGH. Oh, what happened to the old Mego boards?

            Sigh.

            Deep sigh.

            I'm at a loss.

Every person reading these messages is a geek, a nerd, a spazz, or any other goofy variation on that theme. I learned long ago to accept my inner geekiness and embrace it. Stop living in denial, apes, and come outta the geek closet

Oh, I'm with him. If I don't see it in my monthly subscription to 'Adults Who Play With Dolls'....well then I just don't see it. It's a matter of principle.

Geek is one of the best magazines out there for nerds like us, I'm a subscriber. The only thing I didn't like was when they mentioned EMCE, they only mentioned Joe Sena, I'm sure it was an editorial mistake though.

This month's Geek has a piece on Dana Gould's Apes collection:

This month's Toyfare has a very nice shot of Khan and some other Mego goodness in it, so it's worth a read.

Hmm.. I never really considered myself a geek or a nerd or whatever. However, if this is the label today as it pertains to collecting cool vintage toys then it is the shoe that I will wear proudly. After all living well is really and truly the only revenge bar none.
