    Mattel's Classic Batmobile + Megos

    Hello everyone!
I'm sure someone must have posted about this already. When I saw Mattel's classic Adam West Batmobile at Toys R Us, the first thought I had was, "I wonder if Megos would fit in there?"

(sorry about the offsite link for the pic--I am having trouble using the Forum's image uploader)

Well as you can see, indeed they do fit! ...barely! It's pretty tight for them, and their feet don't quite go all the way in, so knees must be slightly bent. Also, to get Batman in the driver's seat I had to pop the steering wheel out, which luckily snaps right off and back on when you're ready. Despite the tight fit though, I think it still looks nice and is about the same size if not larger than the original Mego Batmobile (don't have one to compare). Anyway, just wanted to share in case anyone was wondering! It would make for a nice display with the Megos standing near it. In my case, my two boys couldn't care less about the tight fit--they're taking the dynamic duo on all sorts of adventures in the Batmobile (which by the way, is very kid/play friendly).

    Best,
    James

Very cool. Thank you for sharing. We're inching closer to a Batmobile that will fit the Megos.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I think it looks close the the Mego size Batmobile. And I really love that pic w/ the comic books on the bed. I bet your boys are having a lot of fun w/ this.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Yeah, the kids are having a blast with all my old Megos ...and so am I! It's been really cool to see their imaginative play. I feel like a kid again!

That Batmobile is a Toys R Us exclusive and sells for $60. It's made to fit a line of 6" TV series figure, which look quite cool but not overly poseable.

It's pricey for what you get (should be a $30 toy). Nothing opens, no lights--not even translucent plastic for the headlights. But for what it lacks there, it makes up for in "playability". There are no stickers, everything is either molded or painted on. And the hard plastic tires on metal axles reminds me of any car toy from the 70's.

I bet it would look REALLY good with the new FTC Batman '66 figures!
