Ah-ha! So THIS is the infamous Mego Buzz place. Hi, my name is Kurt and I'm an addict (oops, wrong forum) I mean, collector. I found this place via Non-sports update and eBay. I collect a bunch of things, mostly paper items because of space limitations: Cards, comics, Chick tracts, Coins, cigar rings, Halloween post cards, and bills. (The bills I don't collect on purpose, but you know how that goes.) Anyway, I've enjoyed the Mego Museum but trying to collect the promos have been pretty confusing. I found a starter pack for sale on eBay, contacted the seller (one of the producers) because the sale had already ended. That led me here where I found out they don't really want me to buy them on ebay (the starter pack was free but for postage, but I've never seen it offered again since then). So I have to say it's been a bit frustrating because if you don't have any to trade, it's hard to get started. I'd watch the board and miss them every time. Also my dial up computer wouldn't let me sign in and let me post (though I could still stalk the board), so technology continues to stimey me And I didn't even know where Mego Buzz was. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's rather unclear how to get started for newcomers. I'm not griping, mind you, just suggesting it would help to spell it out more for newbees like myself who are a little thick headed. (Blame it on the comic books.) It only took three months but I think I'm finally beginning to figure it out... I think.
I only need the first 65 cards of the mego promos. (It's a start.) I love the concept of the slowly growing card series, though it sounds like the latecomers have little chance of actually finishing them. (Until the old collectors start dying off. Tick-tock, tick-tock...) I'm trying to stay active in hopes of outlasting at least a few.
As far as my background, I'm in Tallahassee FL, spend too much time on the computer, have a jones for monster cards and haunted houses (I produce both) but also dabble in a few normal activities for appearances sake (like teaching). I don't have a Mego collection, but would start one if someone would give them away like they do the cards. (My aurora monster model collection already consumes all my spare bookshelf space.) It's a sad moment when your reach that point of life where you realize you can't have it ALL.
What else? I like riding, hiking, and long walks on the beach. No picture, no profile, no IM (just kidding, I'm taken but a few proposals might make her jealous and that never hurts.)
Well, there you have it. My life in public forum so the identity thieves can do what they do best. BTW, my cat's names are Password and Username.
