Madelman, Lion Rock? Figures and accessories slightly smaller than 1:9

Can someone explain the difference between Madelman and Lion Rock, as far as height and figure articulation? I know they're smaller than Mego, but how much shorter? Are the accessories and clothing compatible between the 2 lines?

I've acquired some Plan-B Toys figures, and their scale is 1:12 (6"). They have removable and interchangeable accessories, but their hats and clothing is molded on, like many modern figures. Their proportions are different too- the small heads, long legs and relatively trim bodies, and 18 points of articulation. Any reason why modern action figures are generally like this, with the tiny heads and the long, thin bodies?

Madelman and Lion Rock are the same height.
As far as articulation is concerned, Madelman is inferior. They don't move very smooth, and are prone to breaking their joints.
As far as accessories are concerned, Madelman is superior, with a vast range of very detailed clothes and weapons, etc. Madelman offered everything that 12" GI Joe had, and much more.
As far as body construction is concerned, Madelman is a bit slimmer and more narrow around the chest. So their jackets can sometimes be too tight for a Lion Rock, depending on the outfit.
