My "Star Trek The Collectibles" book just popped up on Amazon!

As many of you may know I am authoring a new Star Trek Collectibles book that is due to be released sometime this fall around late Sept or in Oct.
It will feature most of the collectibles produced over the years based on the original series, animated series and the first six and a half movies.
It's pretty much a book that focuses on all things collectible based on the original cast from TOS to the movies and all the related ships, etc.
If it is published pretty much the way I handed off all of the content and images to my editor, it will have a very nice section on both the Mego figures and toys.

Well, today I happened to be searching Amazon and decided to see what, if any, of the older Star Trek collectibles books they might still have listed.... and to my amazement my own book shows up in the search!

    Amazon.com: star trek collectibles: Books

Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool

    Steve
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

Steve, congratulations on your accomplishment !!!

Is it strictly a paperback print ? Will there be hardcover prints as well ?

Do you know when the sample pages will be available at Amazon ?

Very cool, but is it not out until October ??
Can never really trust Amazon on release dates.
Probably be out in Europe in March next year.
      That's a good pre-order price.

Congrats, but there's no way I trust Amazon anymore after what they did to me with Ben's book

The publisher has told me it will be released this fall around Sept so Oct is about right I would think.
The book will be the same size and type of book as the recent Transformers book that Krause published around the release of the Transformers movie.
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

Yeah, it feels really good finally seeing it officially listed now because as many people know anything can happen. If the editor delivers the content to the layout people pretty much as I handed it off to her you should be seeing one heck of a Mego representation in the book, both in toys and in action figures. Plus a nice little added part about Mego customs thanks in part to the help of Paul Clarke, who by the way also helped me with a few extra added surprises

I have been working on the book for about two years now, though for part of the first year I was also trying to find a publisher so I wasn't as motivated with working on it as I was in the second year once Krause Publications offered me a contract.

One can never have too much info on the TOS stuff.
                          It's all good!

Best of luck with it, but I honestly don't know what kind of demand there is for a Trek collectibles book these days. There's already (as you well know) a few out there.. I have the older House of Collectibles one, as well as the Schiffer book and Kelly Hoffman's Playmates Trek ref book. I barely reference any of them nowadays, since my Trek collecting has slowed to a crawl, and the internet has become the chief medium for such things anyway. But then again, I only dabble in toys and such, not any of the more obscure things.

The Trek aftermarket being in the toilet the last few years can't help either. Maybe the new movie will reinvigorate, but I'm pessimistic.

Again, it's a very nice accomplishment and I hope it does well, but I would have concerns about the demand for such a book. But I'm sure your publisher did their research, and they never would've given it a go if they didn't think there was a market..
