    BIRTHDAY/and/SUMMER MEGO MEMORIES

What was your fondest birthday and summer memories that invold MEGOS?

For me...i was least ohh 19-20 when i ordered the reproducted figures of MAD MONSTERS from classictvtoys.... it was around JUNE my month,

they made in the middle of the week.... i loved them! i dunno i still have problems with dracula but all in all they were the greatest b-day gift i got from the mail....

i know this isnt much of a memory but it is a fond one... even though theyre repros, but all in all i love them. when summer comes around i always think 'CLASSIC HORROR MOVIES' i dunno i think of the creature from the black lagoon mostly.

So, any of you guys (and gals) like to share fond memories of your birthday or summer vacation which has the goodness of MEGO?

A big part of my childhood was spent playing in the back yard with my megos.

There was a big dirt pile under a maple tree out back that served as multiple alien planets to explore. The sand box made an excellent Forbidden zone.

The yard looks alot smaller now when I take the kids to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Somehow not as green as I remember it. But if I consentrate real hard I can still see those alien landscapes and smell the vinyl of my Enterprise playset.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

I don't have any mego birthday memories maybe cause I was an 80's kid.I think the only ones I got for a birthday were the small Dukes.I did have a great Gi joe b-day.The cake was filled with Joes and I remember my aunt putting a candle to close to Dukes hand and burning it everyone was cracking up and I was like save DUKE!!

        Hmmm...

...well, I didn't get any Megos for my birthday. I got Lainie and my second AJ for Christmas when I was 6 and 8. The first AJ, I didn't get for any special occasion, I just got him. My mom was a little apprehensive getting a little girl an action figure. But after the way I bugged her every time a commercial for AJ came on, she finally agreed to talk it over w/ my dad and see what he thought. He was fine w/ it as long as it was black. So we walked to the toy store and got one. I thought I was all kinds of cool when I took ole AJ to kindergarten for Show & Tell. All the boys wanted to play w/ him, and a few didn't think I was worthy of such a great figure, simply b/c I'm a girl.

Summer fun,we use to take bread bags and use the for parachutes for our action figures. The went sailing off the roof out of the trees, and best thrown in the air riding our bikes.I wish I would have taken better care of them back then.As kids we lived for summer break.

OMG! I used to know kids who used ice-cream bags, (y'know those small plastic bags they used to give you to put your half-gallon ice-cream in so the paper bag wouldn't break?), string and school re-enforcement rings and make parachutes for their action figures. They'd throw them out the windows of off of fire-escapes in NYC. But as one kid learned, you better have a friend waiting below to catch it, or by the time you come downstairs, your guy was history!
