    The bug is spreading.

Well the addiction is definitely spreading, my Starsky and Hutch haven't even turned up yet, but Iv gone and bought a boxed Action Jackson.

I don't even know anything about him, but Iv read some stuff on here and then saw one on the bay....looks to be a mego knock off version of GI Joe (am I right?)

Not sure how much they go for, hope I got him cheap.

Two quick questions....Is he an 8 or 12 inch figure and If I was to flock his hair similar to GI Joe, would I be devaluing him or making him more unique?

Anyway here's the picture of him on ebay.....I look forward to his arrival...

Looks like I overpaid for him then...£19.00 thats about $38 I think.
I was watching a carded Starsky that went for $80 and AJ was the next one down on the sellers list.

Still cheap for such an old mint boxed item, if that was Action Man it be worth a good couple of hundred

Nah you didn't overpay. - that is a nice boxed AJ. Yes, with patience they can be had for less but that one is very minty looking.

I would not change or alter it. It would devalue it considerably.

Well actually, the answer is yes to both. You are making him more unique, unless there are a lot of us flocking our AJs. But you also would be devaluing him, because that figure looks nice and minty. If he has not been removed from his box before, taking him out and altering him would mean he's no longer "mint in package." But that really only matters if you plan to re-sell him someday. That said, he's your toy. If you bought a boxed AJ to have a nice collectible on your shelf, leave him be. But if you bought him for the sake of opening a vintage toy that you didn't have before, do whatever the heck you want with him. And if you do choose to alter him, feel free to post pics in the Customs section.

Welcome to the addiction. I'm sure most people overpaid a bit in their very early days of enthusiasm...I know I sure did.

I haven't got any flocked AJs but I can show you some pictures of non Joe heads Iv done later....including Steve Austin and some Marxs heads I have done for customers

AJs head looks suitable for flocking.
If you click on my site below, you'll see some heads Iv done (shameless Plug)

Those AJ heads are great! That makes him SO much more 70's! Quick question... do you have to have them flocked in the same color as the original paint? I.E will black painted hair show through blond flock?

The paint will bleed through alittle..if you look close at the red heads lip's...you will see the outline of the black beard..I found it works best with no beard AJ....but the blonde no beard in pic was a black haired version...

It would give a whole new meaning to any uniform that he wore.
