It seems that I'll never be happy with the way the Museum is being treated by all manufacturers, so the best solution is to remove myself from the situation. We got absolutely nothing this toy fair and it's pretty galling, so I will give nothing in return.

Brian, I am truly bummed for you and the Museum... You give a lot to us manufacturers: free open forums, top bill on press releases and genuine interest on the action figures we make. I don't always have huge announcements, but when I do they come from here. This is where 90 percent of my customers come, it's where my friends come and most of all it's where I come to hear and talk about MEGO like figures... To snub the Museum seems like kicking yourself in the balls...

Anybody who is making 8" figures and NOT coming here is making a HUGE marketing mistake. They may find us a bunch of unrealistic whiny *******s, who knows, but there is no doubt we are the *******s they are targeting with their figures. They have an instant connection to their primary audience. Sure, there are Mego collectors who don't come here, but it's a pretty niche market, and without a doubt we are the largest, and most accessible cross-section of that market.

I hope you change your mind Brian, but I can't blame you.

Brian, I know this situation stinks, but don't let it get you down. You can't help the actions of a few boneheads, but know that you are loved and respected by the members of this wonderful place you have created. I look forward to coming here here each and every day. In my book, you're the best!

I know it's frustrating to be left out, especially after sitting on the knowledge of this line and not saying anything. I would be upset as well. It is again my advice to take inventory of what we/you have and spend little time with what we don't. For example:


* THe Museum has or had 5500 members plus, though ten percent are active posters
* Plaid Stallions arose from this site
* Mego Meet is hitting it's tenth birthday this year
* We witnessed the birth of Brick Mantooh figures
* We've been involved, ground zero-like, with the new Action Jackson line and Zica-Way rebirth
* We've had first dibs at all the cool Castaway figures and exclusives
* We've got Captain Canuck coming soon

Those are just a sampling of what the museum is and will become. Our potential has not yet been reached. Sure, we're a fairly critical bunch, but we're as passionate of a consumer base as you'll find. If I were making a 1/9 scale figure, I sure as hell would debut it here or get ideas and feedback. Did these companies make a mistake by snubbing us? Absolutely. Would it be compounding the mistake by giving up trying in the future? Absolutely. Mistakes will always be made, but we learn more from our failures than we ever do with our successes. This is a learning experience and a slap to the face. How we respond to adversity defines us. The MM didn't get here without overcoming obstacles. This is simply another one to climb over.

I was asked last year to do some of the clothing for these guys. The jacket for Jacksferatu, the undersuit for Mars Attacks and the full suit for Spirit of 76.

To see them all put together and in packaging is cool.

Have the entire set of the Presidential Monsters so far. These are some of the best figures being produced today in my opinion. Mark is doing great work. I will look forward to all of these!
