I wonder how many 7 year olds went apes*@t when the factory produced versions weren't exactly like the prototypes. ;-)

I like the Wyatt Earp head on the Black Knight better, although I'm guessing the helmet wouldn't fit, so they went with old pinhead Wild Bill.

They should have added Merlin and Queen Guinevere. Other than that, the sculpts were great.

It's always fun to see these mock-ups. Seems Mego decided to broaden the line-up with more individualized tooling when it came time for actual production.

All much better than the final productions.

Those swords look fantastic.

Weird to think the best headsculpt, Ivanhoe, isn't apart of the original run.

Makes me wonder if BK was a last-second entry

Very little is the same from these prototypes, to the actual releases:
The Black knight's shoes, King Arthur's outfit, torso armor & shield sculpts are the same.
Outfits may be the same material, and that's about it as far as what WASN'T changed...
The paint designs of the shields & armor is different, 2 Knights use Superhero boots, King Arthur has gold colored shoes instead of tan, Black Knight has a different shaped emblem, belt, no shoulder armor or helmet, & a much better head than the released head
Ivanhoe is listed, but is represented differently... Swords are different & joust lance is missing
Not much is the same as what was eventually released... This is a fantastic pic- I've never seen it. This really makes my evening... I love the Knights, & have a complete set of T2... I really wish this line had been expanded...
