I'm thinking about trading my carded and boxed Megos for loose and mint ones.
Like 2-3 loose ones for one mint carded, depending on the actual figure.
I'd rather have a complete loose collection than some loose and some in package.
But I'm not quite there yet. I find it very hard to take a Mego out of the collection, even when I have multiples..

I say screw resale value. Get the figures and keep them the way yOU like them. In theri packages or opened.
I love the story about the Star Wars site. I would probably get banned because every time I opened a figure I would take a picture of it with me sticking my tongue out at the people who would already be having a conniption over it. LOL.Comment

All of my 12" figures are out of their cardboard coffins. Figures like Hot Toys and Sideshow I need to display loose, they look great once "released".
If the card art is exceptionally great, and the figure looks great in the bubble, I'll sometimes keep it like that..

I'm afraid he's right. I had a mint Pin Pin French carded 1979 SOS Spiderman, I never been opened it. I scored it went for $70 from local Comic store last about 9 yrs ago. I've heard the one like I had went over $200 on Auctions and on the Museum Marketplace yrs ago. I sold it to Hector in the Mego Marketplace.... Next time I should kept it forever with great scored items.
I've been very difficult to search for a beater carded Mego ST Mr.Scottie with lowered price, very impossible for a long time so, my Mother bought a minty carded one for my Christmas went for $100.... and I opened him to finished complete set of dead minty, complete and all original loose Mego ST figs. Next time I shouldn't have done it if went high... I had a minty carded Mego ST Klingon from a trouble maker member of this MM (can't tell everyone who's he) went for $35, It fell off the display shelve and the figure's head pop up and damaged on the top of bubble, very difficult to push him back it's original card, I had to open him and fixed him then displayed. Later on, I traded it with my bud The4thDoctor (aka Wayne). Glad he's taking care of him with his original card, he told me he just wanted to keep Klingon inside of his original card go with his Mego and others in his collection with great pics. Oh, I'm almost forgot my first opened carded is "Chips" since 2004 that I scored them on hidden Auction went for $75 for 3 carded 8" Chips!! I've seen went over $100 each card, later on the original Seller saw my thread all about this and she changed her price from $75 to $100 each.... I opened all of 3, my bad...... Also, I opened water damaged carded Silver Soldier Ape 'cuz I'm afraid of green mold that grew on the back head down to bottom of the tunic if I keep it sealed for many yrs later... I removed green mold and fixed thread button on the back top of the tunic that had thread damaged 'cuz of the mold. I sold him to Heath (aka highquality) last about 8 yrs ago, the loose one and the damaged card one have been sold to other member.Comment
